Back-To-School 2021: Are We Ready?

How the vacation passes, we’re now back to our classes.

It’s school time again! You’re probably feeling excited and maybe a little sad that summer is over. Ahhh summer break! That magical time of year! Somehow, summer break always seems to fly by faster and faster as the years go on! By the time you get used to your summer schedule or routine with the family, it’s time to get back into work mode again.

The beginning of every school year can be overwhelming and exciting at the same time. Getting back into the swing of things at school can be a difficult transition for children and teenagers. Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school. Luckily, these “new” worries only stick around for a little while. New is fun—new beginnings, new teachers, new friends, new clothes, new kicks, new school supplies, new lunch kit, and a new backpack.

The start of the school year can be a hectic and stressful time for teachers, students, and parents. And the one thing that you’re probably excited about during this time is back to school shopping! Don’t you just love going to the store and looking at the different notebooks and planners and then choosing the ones with the prettiest designs?

But due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, back-to-school shopping may look a bit different. Digital education has helped millions of children to continue learning from home, but well we know that nothing beats the power of the classroom.

Some children will have regular, in-person school, others may have distance-learning or some combination of the two. These changes may also impact the needed school supplies.

The new school year is quickly approaching, so you’re probably already thinking about all the things you need to do to be ready for that first day.

Even if you’re homeschooling or virtual learning, it’s still important that we are properly equipped to have a successful school year.

We listed some must-have back to school supplies.

Planners

Aside from the primary school necessities, planners are a MUST HAVE for school too! They will keep you organized and on top of all of your assignments and tests. Start using one, and you won’t regret it!

Lunch Items for School

Besides buying a lunchbox or lunch bag, you may want to start stocking up on the items you’ll be packing for lunches. Lunchbox/bag, as well as having your own water bottle is a must-have especially in this time of pandemic to lessen contact with other people and to ensure that the food you will eat is safe and it will likely be healthier!

Pens and Cases

The key to choosing a great case is realizing that you’re not just going to put pencils in them. Throughout the school year, you’re going to stuff it with pencils, pens, tape, scissors, sticky notes, and a bunch of other random things that will leave you wondering where they came from.

Writing Materials

Now we’re getting down to the basics, here are some writing materials that you might need during the school year:

Due to the risk of transmitting the coronavirus, some schools may require students to wear face masks while at school, particularly when they can’t maintain social distance. If so, you will want to purchase or make several well-fitting, comfortable masks for you to wear. You may also want to have your own personal hygiene products, such as hand sanitiser and alcohol, wet wipes and tissues.

The fun of back-to-school shopping can also come with a steep price tag. However, there are resources available to help reduce or cover these costs.

Take advantage of various sales that tend to happen in the weeks before school starts. Additionally, many stores will offer back-to-school discounts for sure!

The beauty of online shopping is that it’s so easy to comparison shop and have the exact items you want to be shipped right to your door!

By approaching the back-to-school shopping season with a plan, and knowing ahead of time what you need to buy, you’ll be able to save money and cut down on stress.

The impact of this pandemic requires us to take different approaches and put forth extraordinary efforts. Whether students are in a classroom at school or at home, we have to make sure to get the best possible education. Make your back-to-school experience exciting, regardless of what it looks like this year!
