Think radio control (RC) helicopters and images of broken piggy banks and complex multi-channel RC systems normally come flooding to mind.
The Fly Fairy Sky Patrol Chopper does away with these norms - no complex rotor pitch and speed control here, just a simple throttle for vertical ascent with a tail rotor that's calibrated to stabilise the helicopter while in flight.
This rechargeable RC helicopter comes fully assembled and includes a high-performance pivoting main rotor, independent tail rotor, 2-channel controller with telescopic antenna, platform charger, 12V Ni-Cd battery pack, AC adapter charger and instruction manual.
Three to four minutes of flight time is possible from a fully charged helicopter which will quickly rise to over 30m from the ground on full throttle. Ease back on the throttle a little and pretty soon you'll get the hang of getting this RC toy to hover well above your head (up to 100m away!).
With its military paint job, plug 'n' play simplicity, durable construction and a noise level that'll make petrol RC helicopters sound like an invasion, the Fly Fairy's suited to flight in your large backyard, local park or field. There's never been an easier way to get into vertical take-off flight.
Product Specification
The X-1 Fly Fairy is an entry level remote controlled (RC) chopper. Please do not expect it to compare to other full function RC helicopters that can cost as much as a second-hand car.The included radio controller allows you to control the chopper's vertical take-off and decent. Full function forwards, backwards, left and right movement will be guided by prevailing winds and should not be expected from this RC toy. 8 x AA alkaline batteries (not included) are required for the radio controller. This helicopter is not intended to be flown in windy or rainy conditions. Doing so will greatly increase the risk of damage to the helicopter unit. Please pilot your helicopter in wide open spaces (where soft landings are possible eg. flat grass areas) with no nearby buildings, trees, crowds, roads or power lines to minimise the risk of injury to yourself and others. Flying indoors, while possible, will almost certainly lead to some sort of trauma (either to someone else or the chopper itself) - not recommended, but tempting nonetheless. While this toy 'copter will survive minor crashes, prospective pilots should note that more severe damage may limit the choppers ability to fly. 4-5 hours is required to fully charge the included Ni-Cd battery pack before first use - this will allow between 4 and 5 charge cycles of the chopper's internal battery, after which the main battery pack will need re-charging. The helicopter's smaller internal battery should provide 3-4 minutes of flight time per 4-5 minute charge cycle. In other words, up to 20 minutes of flight time is possible from a single fully charged battery pack inserted into the chopper's charging base.- Recommended for ages 10 and up.
- Operating frequency: 27MHz.
- Length: 480mm (including rotors).
Please note: This product is not for children under 3 years of age as some parts represent a choking hazard. Batteries should not be recharged beyond the recommended time frame.
