What the Rubiks Cube 5x5 is all about...
|
|
Ernő Rubik invented the 3x3 Cube in the spring of 1974 in his home town of Budapest, Hungary. He wanted a working model to help explain three-dimensional geometry and ended up creating the world's best selling toy.
Rubik originally called his invention the 'Magic Cube', and it was later renamed the Rubik's Cube by the Ideal Toy Corporation in 1980.
The Cube has inspired everything from fashion, architecture and music to films, plays and political speeches. There is also a dedicated art movement known as 'Rubikubism'.
The Rubiks Cube 5x5 (also known as a Professor's Cube) is the most complex of all Rubik's Cube levels.
Its siblings and predecessors bow down to the challenge this one introduces to the user.
Newly tooled and released, this is a long awaited puzzle for Rubik's fans looking for a piece of nostalgia and those who have just learned how fun Rubik's products can be.
Product Specification
Product dimensions: 7(H) x 7(W) x 7(D) cm / 2.7(H) x 2.7(W) x 2.7(D) inches.
The Rubiks Cube 5x5 is the biggest version (5 columns x 5 rows) of the world's number one puzzle and comes with a black display stand.
It should be noted that the 5x5 cube is inherently less durable than a 3x3 cube due to the considerable additional moveable parts. While Rubik have endeavoured to, and are confident of, these puzzles being the best quality possible it is only fair that customers be made aware that 5x5 cubes are not suitable for 'speed cubing'. These puzzles should not be forced to twist and must be aligned correctly before twisting to prevent damage. As such, we can not be responsible for replacement of 5x5 cubes which break during use due to turning misaligned rows.
Note: Not suitable for children under 3 year due to small parts which may constitute a choking hazard.
