What the Personal ATM is all about...

Teaching your child the value of money – and saving it, is easy and a whole lot of fun with the Personal ATM. While the adult in you says "educational toy" – the kid in you will be thinking "so cool".

You (or for the sake of this exercise, we'll say "your kid") get an ATM Card and PIN Number, which can be changed on the keypad.

As you (whoops, your child) deposit coins, the Personal ATM reads them and adds them to your account balance. Use the note slot to deposit your bills and update your balance on the keypad. It's so much cooler than a money box.

Check out the features – you can set a target savings amount and a "days to save setting". Check your balance, check money or how many days you have left to reach your savings target...and when it's time to withdraw, the calculated withdrawal system will help you update your balance.

There's a calculator, time and date display, alarm clock and calendar function – and if anyone tries to get their sticky little fingers on the cash – the alarm will sound! There's even a personal safe built in!

Complete with ATM sounds and tunes, the Personal ATM is a fun way to learn how to save. With no bank fees...and unlimited transactions! Suitable for ages 6 and up, which means if you're 32+ - it's all good!

Product Specification

The Personal ATM features: coin depositing (single slot, auto measuring), note depositing, security card control, password security (set by owner), saving target and time setting, money withdrawal, check balance, check money still needed, check saving days left, 8-digit calculator, time and date display, sound/alarm and personal cabinet.

The Personal ATM is about 800g and 158(L) x 130(W) x 200(H) mm in weight and size respectively, is powered by 3 x AA batteries (not included) and recommended for ages six and upwards.

Note: Automatic coin recognition feature works with Australian coins only. When inserting notes you have to key in the note value manually.

"I bought the Personal ATM for my son who is two and it is now a bed time ritual that he puts some spare change in it from my husband's work pants every night. He won't even let my husband get in the door before he's looking for spare change - great I say, he's not only learning to save but he's getting money off his daddy, which is more than I can say for myself." I bought the Personal ATM for my 5 year old son because he wants to save for a motorbike. The only downsides I found were A: that the coin storage isn't very big and most importantly, B: It does not take Australia notes. It only takes $1 bills which I am assuming is american. You can fold the notes up and put them in however the machine does not count them. Other than those two things it is a great little thingy-ma-bob. "I bought the Personal ATM because I've got a relatively large amount of savings and needed a money box to store it. It suits the storage purpose, calculates what I've saved and what I've got left to save, which is great. The only downsides? Opening the back panel to put the batteries in required a good thirty minutes hard work with a screwdriver (as a prying bar, mind you - that screw wasn't coming out)...and the ear-splitting noises after every deposit that got kind of repetitive after about the fifth bill or coin."
