What the Folding Colander is all about...
Most people look at a colander - and see a colander. However when a certain bunch of innovative designers looked at a colander they saw a total waste of storage space! And we here at LatestBuy looked at their replacement design - the Folding Colander - and saw a brilliant solution to the whole space versus need debate (i.e. the need to drain the pasta versus the drain it puts on space in your kitchen's "miscellaneous" draw).
Just like their other design called the Chop 2 Pot – the Folding Colander has taken a fresh look at the functionality of this kitchen essential and delivered a rather sexy (if you can call a kitchen utensil that) solution.
The Folding Colander is one flat piece of food-grade polypropylene that takes up no space at all in the cupboard – but when it's time to strain the potatoes, its 12 live hinges go to work transforming into the holey vessel of clean vegetables!
Well-thought-out is an understatement – with over 100 prototypes made before they cracked it.
No more struggling and juggling to make your old bowl-style colander fit in the dishwasher, without leaving half the other dishes on the sink. And you won't need to go through rifling through that draw, you know the one – where all those items that couldn't answer the "what on earth do I do with this" question end up.
It's a simple "Fold, Strain, Unfold, Wash, Store" versus a rifle madly, clang, bang, drain, struggle, strain, wash, juggle, shove and shut the door quickly so it doesn't fall out.

Product Specification
The Folding Colander is about 425 x 330 x 50 mm in size when flat and 270 x 220 x 140 mm when folded. It features polypropylene living hinges to allow the board to be folded and is also dishwasher safe.
